Auramix V200 is a chloride-free, ready-to-use additive. It is a high performance admixture that modifies the rheology of concrete. It is based on a single polymer and is designed for use with polycarboxylate based admixtures from Fosroc's Structuro, Auracast and Auramix ranges.

Auramix V200 is designed to meet the conflicting requirements placed on concrete today: high flowability, retention over long periods of time regardless of varying properties of the materials used, lack of binder content and high admixture dosages, which can lead to undesirable effects such as segregation.

Uses

• Auramix V200 is a viscosity modulating admixture used for:
• Self compacting concretes
• Pumped concrete
• Shotcrete
• Lightweight aggregate concrete
• Porous concrete
• Self-compacting concrete with low fines content
• Concrete with sands and aggregates with discontinuous granulometries or low binder content.

Advantages

• Reduces sensitivity to variations in the hydration of the aggregates.
• Eliminates segregation and exudation of the mixes.
• Reduces pumping pressure by reducing the viscosity of the concrete while maintaining homogeneity and therefore reducing friction.
• Provides better pumpability while keeping very fluid mixes homogeneous.
• Setting time will not be affected (will depend on the other admixtures used in the mix).
• No effect on air ingress.
• No effect on the flowability of mixtures at early ages or on the workability retention period.
• No adverse effect on early or final strengths.
• Better surface finish.

Standards

Auramix V200 complies with UNE-EN 934-2:2010 +A1 Table 13 as a viscosity modulator.

Typical dosage

The optimum dosage of Auramix V200 to achieve specific requirements should be determined by testing, using the materials and conditions that will be used in practice. 

A starting point for such trials is to use a dosage of 0.1 to 0.5% by weight of cement. 

For different applications, consult Fosroc's Technical Department who will advise you on the most suitable dosage depending on the size of the aggregates and the amount of fines in the mix.

Effects of overdosage

An overdosage of the product may result in loss of fluidity of the mixture.

Properties

The following results were obtained at a temperature of 20°C:

• Appearance: Viscous yellowish liquid.
• Density: 1,008 ± 0,003 kg/l
• pH: 5,5 - 7,5
• Water-soluble chloride content (CI-): ≤ 0,10 %.
• Alkali content (Na2O equivalent): max. 2.5% by mass

Directions for use

Compatibility

Auramix V200 is compatible with Fosroc Euco concrete admixtures from the Structuro, Auracast and Auramix ranges. The resulting properties of concrete containing more than one admixture must be checked by prior testing.

Auramix V200 is suitable for use with all cements complying with the RC-08 standard.

Dosing system

The correct amount of Auramix V200 should be measured by means of a suitable dosing system. Contact Fosroc Euco's Technical Department for advice on the appropriate dosing equipment and its installation.

Mixing

Auramix V200 can be combined with superplasticiser from the Fosroc range, add the additives to the mix separately.

Clean up

Spillage of Auramix V200 should be absorbed with sand or earth and transferred to suitable containers. Product residues should be flushed away with a large quantity of water.

Disposal of the product and packaging is the responsibility of the end user and must be carried out in accordance with existing local legislation.

Storage

Auramix V200 has a storage period of 12 months in a dry place in its original and closed containers at a temperature between 2 and 50ºC.

Precautions

Safety and Hygiene

Auramix V200 is not classified as harmful by current regulations. However, it must not be swallowed or come into contact with skin and eyes. Wear suitable protective gloves and goggles.

Splashes on the skin should be washed off with water. In case of contact with eyes, flush with plenty of water and seek medical advice. If swallowed, seek immediate medical attention. DO NOT induce vomiting.
