Structuro 311 is a new generation admixture with a high water-reducing power without loss of workability and performance. It allows the production of high flowing concretes.

Standards

Structuro 311 complies with UNE-EN 934-2:2010 Tables 3.1. and 3.2. as a high activity water reducer/superplasticiser.

Typical dosage

The optimum dosage of Structuro 311 to achieve specific requirements should be determined by tests using the materials and conditions with which it will be tested in practice.

This dosage may range from 0.3 to 2.0% s.p.c., bearing in mind that maximum dosage may cause setting delays.

For self-compacting concrete the average dosage would be about 1%.

For self-levelling concrete the average dosage would be between 1.0 and 1.5%.

Properties

The following results were obtained at a temperature of 20ºC:

• Appearance: Light brown liquid
• Density: 1,06 kg/l
• pH: 5.5 ± 1.0
• Water soluble chloride content (CI-): ≤ 0,10%.
• Alkali content (Na2O equivalent): max. 2% by mass
• Primary function: To increase workability
• Secondary function: Increase early and late strengths

Mode of use

Mixing design

Once the appropriate dosage has been selected, care must be taken to ensure the consistency of the materials used and the mixing and spreading processes.

Compatibility

Structuro 311 is only compatible with the superplasticisers of the Fosroc Euco range if the lowest possible w/c ratio is to be maintained. If more than one admixture is used, they should be added to the concrete separately and not mixed together prior to addition. The resulting properties of concrete containing more than one admixture should be checked by pre-testing.

Structuro 311 is suitable for use with all cements complying with RC-08.

Dosing system

The correct amount of Structuro 311 should be measured using a suitable dosing system. For best results, the admixture should be added to the concrete in the mixing water or directly in the mixer. In this case, increase the setting time. Contact the Fosroc Euco Technical Department for advice on the appropriate dosing equipment and its installation.

Effects of overdosage

An overdosage of twice the maximum dosage indicated may cause delayed setting of the concrete as well as additional air entrapment.

Curing

As with all structural concrete, good curing must be achieved, particularly in situations where overdosing has occurred. A Fosroc Euco Concure type curing membrane, water (sprayed) or wet burlap should be used.

Clean up and disposal

Spillage of Structuro 311 should be absorbed with sand or earth and transferred to suitable containers. Product residues should be flushed away with a large quantity of water. Disposal of the product and packaging is the responsibility of the end user.

Storage

Structuro 311 has a storage life of 12 months if kept in dry conditions in its original, sealed containers at a temperature between 2ºC and 40ºC. The colour of the additive may change over time, without affecting the properties of the additive.

Precautions

Safety and Hygiene

Structuro 311 must not be swallowed or come into contact with skin and eyes. Wear protective gloves and goggles. Splashes on the skin should be washed off with water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. If swallowed, seek immediate medical attention. Do not induce vomiting.
