Cebex 113 is a combined additive for plasticity, microbubble air entrapment and retardation of setting for the manufacture of stabilised, plant-to-construction mortar.

Uses

  • Used to obtain high plasticity by occlusion of micro air bubbles.
  • It delays setting for the manufacture of stabilised mortar and for transport from plant to site.

Advantages

  • Produces a high plasticising effect due to the occlusion of micro air bubbles.
  • Increases the workability of the mortar without segregation and maintains workability for hours.
  • Reduces capillary absorption. The occluded micro bubbles break the capillarity of the concrete.
  • Significantly increases the thermal insulation capacity.

Standards

Cebex 113 complies with UNE-EN 934-3:2010 as a setting retarder.

Typical dosage

The optimum dosage of Cebex 113 to achieve specific requirements should be determined by testing using the materials and conditions that will be tested in practice. This allows optimisation of the admixture and mix dosage and provides a complete assessment of the mortar.

Guideline values for the preparation of the mortar are given below:

Setting delay at 10ºC

24h: 0,7-0,8

36h: 0,8-0,9

Setting delay at 20ºC

24h: 0,8-0,9

36h: 0,9-1,0

Setting delay at 30ºC

24h: 1,0-1,1

36h: 1,1-1,3

Properties

  • Appearance: Straw coloured liquid
  • Density: 1,165 ± 0,01 kg/l
  • pH: 11,5 ± 1,0
  • Main function: Plasticity in mortars

Method of use

Analysis and control

Once the appropriate dosage has been selected, care should be taken to ensure the consistency of the materials used and the mixing and distribution processes. The air content should be tested regularly.

Compatibility

Cebex 113 is compatible with other Fosroc Euco admixtures used in the same mortar mix. All admixtures should be added to the mix separately and should not be mixed with each other before addition. The resulting properties of the mixture, which contains more than one admixture, must be evaluated.

Cebex 113 is suitable for use with all cements complying with RC-08.

Dosing system

The correct amount of Cebex 113 should be measured using a suitable dosing system. The additive is added to the mortar with the mixing water or directly to the mixer. Knead for at least three minutes.

Curing

As with all cementitious systems, adequate curing of the mortar should be sought to ensure that no cracks or hairline cracks result. Fosroc Euco Concure, water (sprayed) or wet burlap can be used as a curing membrane.

Clean-up and disposal

Spills of Cebex 113 should be absorbed with sand or earth and transferred to suitable containers. Product residues should be flushed away with large quantities of water. Disposal of the product and packaging is the responsibility of the end user.

Limitations

Cebex 113 should not be used for the manufacture of concrete.

Storage

Cebex 113 has a storage period of 12 months if kept in a dry place and in its original, closed containers.

Freezing point: -3°C approx.

If frozen, thaw the product slowly, stirring well until homogenised. Do not thaw directly over heat.

Precautions

Safety and hygiene

Cebex 113 should not be ingested or put in contact with skin and eyes. Wear protective gloves and goggles. Splashes on the skin should be washed off with water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. In case of accidental ingestion, seek medical advice immediately. Do not induce vomiting.

For further information, please refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet.

Fire

Cebex 113 is not flammable.
