Conplast Controler is an additive to prevent concrete shrinkage by 50-60 %. It is composed of a mixture of glycols that reduce the micro-cracking of the concrete at the critical moment of setting.

Typical dosage

The optimum dosage of Conplast Controler to achieve specific requirements should be determined by tests using the materials and conditions to be tested in practice.

A dosage of 1.0 - 2.0 % by weight of cement can be used as a starting point.

Properties

The following results were obtained at a temperature of 20ºC:

• Appearance: Yellowish liquid.
• Density: 0.95 kg/l at 20 °C
• Viscosity: 6 mPas

Directions for use

Mixing design

Once the appropriate dosage has been selected, care must be taken to ensure the consistency of the materials used and the mixing and distribution processes. It should be added at the concrete plant.

Compatibility

Conplast Controler is only compatible with superfluidisers from the Fosroc Euco range if the lowest possible w/c ratio is to be maintained.

Dosing system

Conplast Controler can be added with the mixing water or directly to the mixer. It is necessary to increase the mixing time.

It should be noted that dosed at 1 % there is a slight drop in strength at all ages.

Effects of overdosage

An overdose of twice the amount of Conplast Controler will result in a significant setting delay and a drop in strength.

Curing

As with all structural concrete, the final characteristics will depend on good curing. It is therefore very important to use a curing membrane, water spray or wet burlap.

Storage

Conplast Controler has a storage life of 12 months if kept in a dry place in its original tightly closed containers.

Precautions

Safety and hygiene

Conplast Controler must not be swallowed or come into contact with skin and eyes. Wear protective gloves and goggles. Splashes on the skin should be washed off with water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. If swallowed, seek immediate medical attention. Do not induce vomiting.
